We just got our funding assignments for next year this afternoon.  Fortunately I will not be subjected to another semester of TA-ing Intro to American Government (filled with freshmen, non-majors, and people who generally do not want to be there).  I'm going to be TAing an upper-level, all major, class just on the Presidency.  It was my third choice (my top two choices - methods classes - went to people the cohort ahead of me, so no big surprise), but like I said, I'm going to be a lot happier TAing this class as opposed to 170.  I really like the prof too.

I've mentioned that every Sunday I've been playing the WSOP ME freerolls.  In the first tourney, the top 50 get a seat to a qualifier.  I don't really think I have any shot at this, but it's a way to kill some time on Sundays.

The first tournament is a 5000 person turbo...in other words, you need to get lucky.  A lot. 

I have noticed I tend to run really streaky.  Last night at Pops I had literally the nuts on the turn 5 times and got none of those pots.  (Considering that though, it's amazing I played on $300 for so long).  You would have thought we were playing Omaha and not HE.  So of course today, when I am playing a freeroll to a qualifier I probably have no shot of getting through, I go on a heater of epic proportions.

We're on break right now and I'm sitting on 63k in chips (13th place).  364 entrants left.

I'd taken down a few pots and was playing uber-tight when this hand happened.  Mojo2121 was the massive chip leader and was playing like Dmitri Nobles.  I was praying to get a hand against him and double up.

Shortly after, Mojo busts, I get moved to a different table and I have just been fold fold folding when I wake up to Kings in the big blind.  After a of raise, I get called in two spots by original limpers.  Ruh Roh.  Ace on the flop.  I move all in anyways (why not?  It's just a freeroll.  LOL) and think I am done for when I get called, but somehow the caller had sixes (an underpair to the board).
